Meredith Salenger
Salenger was born and grew up in Malibu, California. Salenger enjoyed performing before her parents and close friends in her early years. She was taken by her mother to her first acting class when she was eight years old. Her first performance was in a minor role as a 'singing and dancing orphan in the film Annie produced by John Huston. Salenger is also part of a few television commercials. Salenger was the first actress to be cast in The Journey of Natty Gann produced by Disney in which she was a film starring John Cusack alongside Ray Wise. The film took home the Moscow Film Festival's Gold Medal as the first movie made in America. Additionally, she was awarded "Best Female actress in a film" at the Youth in Film Awards in recognition of her role as the fun-loving Natty. At the age of 18, she also acted in four films, including A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. After that she made the move to Harvard in order to further her education.
